The Well

The man watched as the little girl ran ahead to the well. The girl peered over the edge into the well as the man walked up to her, smiling. 


When he reached the well he asked the girl, "Can you see him? Look closely and you should see his red eyes. But, don't go too close or he'll grab you."


The girl peered into the well again but could see only darkness. As she turned around to look at the man, the man grabbed her legs and flipped her over the edge. The girl screamed as she fell. A splash was heard a few seconds later and then silence. The man peered over the edge but could not see anything. With a satisfied look on his face, he turned around to leave.


Just then, the girl's voice echoed from within the well, "Please, help me out! Don't leave me here." 


After a few seconds the well went silent again. 


The man then heard a small voice; it was inaudible so he turned towards the well again and peered over the edge, "Hello? Who's there?" 


He then heard what the small voice was saying, "Can you see me? Look closely and you should see my red eyes."


The man stepped back, frightened. It didn't sound like the little girl and he didn't know who it was. 


Again, the little girl's scream echoed from within the well, "Help me, please! Help me out!" 


The man hesitantly took a step forward and peered down within the well. Out of the darkness, a pale white arm reached out and pulled the man in.


The man screamed as he fell with a splash into the well. The water was deep and the man tried to stay afloat.  Looking around he saw numerous corpses of children as they floated around him. 


He looked up towards the well opening and called for help, "Somebody help me! I am down here! Please, help me!" 


But, there was no one there who could hear his call. He then heard the small voice he had heard earlier. It spoke in a mocking voice, "Somebody help me. I am down here. Please, help me."


The man turned around to look for the source of the voice only to see himself standing there. His eyes were red and his skin was pale white.


"Can you see my eyes now? Look into them and you will see what you have made me", said the pale figure. The man fell back, screaming, as a pale white grabbed him and pulled him down towards the bottom of the well.
